Fascinating! I find it stunning how most, if not all recent discoveries in genetics, biology, tend to blurry all the lines that were drawn by last century’s theories.

For me, the issues raised by the hypothesis of these organoids maybe developing sentience when carefully engineered somehow echoes with, for example, the issues on trying to decide whether prions or viruses are living organisms or not (or something in-between living and inert, btw).
